A Sign of Greatness – The Quadrifoglio Verde Story
The year was 1923. The place was the tough Targa Florio endurance race in Sicily. The experienced, but always second-place Ugo Sivocci painted a four-leaf clover, or Quadrifoglio Verde, on his Alfa Romeo RL as a good luck charm. That day, he finished first.
In the months that followed, Sivocci kept on winning and winning, always accompanied by his lucky charm. Since then, the green emblem has been sported by all Alfa Romeo race cars, and the Quadrifoglio Verde emblem was born. It was a sign of legendary victories and sport. Above all, it was the icon of a brand and of limitless passion.
Today, the QV mark is gifted to sporting versions of Alfa Romeo’s road cars, of which the 2016 Giulietta QV is the latest incarnation.
This 1750cc turbocharged, four-cylinder engine is the same power unit as the 4C supercar, generating 240 hp and 340Nm of torque in Dynamic mode, and delivers a power to weight ratio of 5.5kg per brake horsepower, the leader in its league. Capable of reaching 100km/h in just 6 seconds, and achieving a top speed of 244 km/h, this hot hatch replicates the distinctive engine roar of classic 1960s Alfa Romeos.
Alfa Romeo produces only the very best-performing cars with a distinctive character, and only the very best Alfa Romeos get to wear the QV emblem. And, with Giulietta QV, we have a stunning creation that is oozing with the allure of a thoroughbred sports car.
